2022 Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Taught With Fancy Visual Upgrades

It is Skoda’s equivalent to the Polo R-Line.

Skoda revealed the fourth-generation Fabia in May 2021. Now, the company is revealing the flagship trim level. The ruled out an RS model and the Monte Carlo teased here will be a range topping once it goes on sale in Europe later this year. It will essentially be a cosmetic package, much like other models from the Czech brand.

These sketches show the hatchback in two-tone. It has a red body and a black roof. We can also say that the side mirror caps have a dark appearance. The corporate grille is also dark. The Fabia Monte Carlo appears to have tinted taillights and headlights, which would go well with the black rear and front apron.

Another notable change is the large wheels. They are likely 18 inches in diameter, as Skoda offers these size wheels for smaller Fabia models. An even larger set of alloys would have been too much. The cabin maintains the red-and-black theme, with dedicated Monte Carlo graphics on touchscreen and fake carbon fiber. It also features sportier seats. The gearbox lever is a 6-speed manual. This means that the engine with 1.0 TSI will be available.

We are confident that the 1.5-liter four-cylinder, beefier engine will be available as the Monte Carlo will function as the “RS lite”. Skoda may tweak the suspension to bring the Fabia closer the road, but that’s it for hardware upgrades. The equivalent Fabia should have a wide range of standard equipment, much like the Rapid or Kamiq in a Monte Carlo.

It is clear that the new Fabia is significantly more expensive than its predecessor. The Monte Carlo will also be much more expensive. It’s probably better to buy a lower-spec Octavia than the posh B segment hatchback. But, each their own. The VW Polo R-Line is available only with DSG and the 1.5 TSI. Expect to spend well over EUR20,000.
