Now, you’ve seen the photos. Here’s a video.
The Toyota Land Cruiser has been in existence since 2007. It’s time for a major overhaul of the full-size SUV.
The next-generation SUV is already on the horizon. There are leaked images and video showing the new design. While we’ve previously seen the supposed Land Cruiser’s production form uncovered in spy photos, Instagram’s kurdistan_automotive_blog uploaded a spy video of a bunch of LCs parked in an open space.
Although it is not clear where the next-gen Land Cruiser units are located, based on the embedded post, they appear to be right-handed models.
The design of the Toyota SUV is clear. For a single piece of mass, the U-shaped opening that runs below the huge front grille is prominent. The squinty lights flank the chrome grille.
This design is not something we are sure of, but it’s not unlike a simple MPV that was sold in ASEAN (check out Toyota Innova).
I am sure that many of you dear readers agree that Land Cruiser buyers don’t choose the nameplate for its aesthetics. Its reputation for being able to tackle unchartered roads has earned it a lot of respect, as well the authoritative aura it brings to the table in certain parts of the globe (hello politicians).
The 2022 Land Cruiser will use a twin turbo 3.5-liter V6 powertrain. The hybrid powerplant will be available in some countries, and a turbodiesel V6 of 3.3-liter capacity will be available in others.
Although we expect a launch in 2022 for the next Toyota Land Cruiser, as always, our eyes will be open for any new information.
