You can upgrade the suspension and brakes.
Acura Integra’s modern version will compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 100th edition on June 26. The automaker will also bring two NSX Type S examples and two TLX Type S units to race at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The official pace car will be the NSX Type S.
The Integra racecar has a stock powertrain that consists of a turbocharged four-cylinder of 1.5-liter capacity. It produces 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts), and 192 pound feet (260 Newton-meters). The engine can be connected to a six speed manual. Acura uses the Honda Performance Development parts catalogue to improve the brakes, suspension and differential. It rides on 18×9 inch HRE wheels and 245-series Pirelli racing tires. Integra’s racer will wear a red, grey and white livery inspired by the first-generation model that won back-to-back IMSA Championships wins in 1987 and 1988. Paul Hubers, a Pikes Peak rookie, will drive the car on the hill climb.
James Robinson and Nick Robinson will race two Type S vehicles in the competition at Pikes Peak. Acura claims that the models are equipped with performance upgrades but doesn’t go into details about the specifications. After the debut of the Integra last year, Acura’s Brand Office Jon Ikeda expressed an interest in taking the new model to motorsports. He said, “We want this thing to race but maybe the Honda PR & marketing guys might have other ideas.”
The track has been a success for previous Integra iterations. RealTime Racing raced the Acura Integra TypeR in World Challenge Touring Car series. They won the manufacturers’ championships 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002. The 2023 Integra has begun to appear in showrooms. Prices start from $31,895 and include the $1,095 destination fee. A-spec trims with sportier looks are available for $33,895. The A-Spec with Technology Package adds a larger screen and 16-speaker stereo to the vehicle. A 5.3-inch head up display is also available. It costs $36,895.
