The cabin is upholstered in a combination of Milano leather, Ultrasuede and other materials. There’s carbon-fiber trim.
The Acura Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio has just completed the 2023 Acura Type S PMC Edition. These special vehicles will be available in three NSX-derived colours and will arrive later in the year. The launch date is closer.
The Type S PMC Edition comes in three colors: Curva Red and 130R White. They all have Berlina Black covering their roofs, antennas, and door handles. Carbon fiber is used for the rear decklid spoiler, and diffuser. Black trim is added to the lower sills. Black chrome appears on the quad exhaust pipes.
The wheels are 20 inches in diameter and have a Y-spoke design. They also sport a copper-colored finish. Acura claims that the styling is inspired by the NSX pieces. Pirelli PZero tires in sizes 255/35 wrap around.
The body color determines the shades in the TLX Type S PMC Edition. Curva Red cars have an Ebony cabin and red contrast stitching. Long Beach Blue Pearl vehicles have Orchid upholstery and blue stitching. Red interior and 130R White exterior are paired together.
All models come with seats with Milano leather upholstery, and Ultrasuede inserts. The heated, flat-bottom steering wheel provides drivers with a comfortable grip. The cabin features carbon-fiber trim panels with illuminated side sills. The Type S badge is on the floor mats. The center console has a serial number plaque.
The PMC Edition cars are subject to the same quality control as the NSX. Each vehicle is put on the dyno for a thorough paint inspection and a rough-road simulation.
They also undergo a special delivery procedure. They are covered with a special cover to protect their paint. Transport to the dealer takes place in an enclosed single-car vehicle.
Motor1.com contacted Acura to inquire about the production numbers for the TLX Type SMPC Edition. Although Acura did not disclose the exact number, a spokesperson stated that it would be similar to the production of the TLX Type S PMC Edition. The automaker produced 200 units of the RDX in Long Beach Blue and 260 RDX models in Thermal Orange. There were also 330,330 and 360 pieces of the MDX in Valencia Red.
The powertrain of the TLX Types S is not affected by the PMC edition. The 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine produces 355 horsepower (256 kilowatts) as well as 354 pound-feet (348 Newton-meters) of torque. The power is sent to the all-wheel drive system via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
