The Alpina D3 S 2023 gets a new face and the 350-hp powerplant is carried over from the prerefresh model.
To give the newly refreshed BMW 3 Series a more sharp edge, the 2023 Alpina B3 (and D3 S) are available in wagon and sedan body styles. Both models are now available in Germany and will be delivered by October 2022.
The B3 gets a 3.0-liter twin-turbo, inline-six engine. The engine now produces 488 horsepower (364 Kilowatts) as well as 538 pound-feet (730 Newton meters). These gains are 32 hp (24% kW) as well as 22 lb-ft (30Nm) over the old version. The eight-speed automatic drives the power.
Alpina fitted the engine with flow-optimized turbine houses, a larger intercooler and relocated radiators to achieve extra power. A new torque converter is fitted to the gearbox.
The sedan’s top speed is 190 mph (305 km/h). It can reach speeds of up to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. The wagon can reach speeds of 188 mph (302 km/h) and 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds.
The D3 S’s powertrain is the same as the pre-refresh model. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel-fueled, inline-six produces 350 horsepower (261 kW) as well as 538 lb/ft (730 Nm). The sedan can reach 62 mph with a top speed at 170 mph (273 km/h). The wagon can reach 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds. It can also achieve speeds of 168 mph (270 km/h).
The D3 S and B3 S only come with all-wheel drive. They also have an electronically controlled limited slip rear differential. Alpina parts are used to make the springs, bump stoppers, and stabilizers. The company also calibrates the settings for steering.
The tuned 3 Series has a new front splitter featuring Alpina branding in its center. The rear bumper features integrated surrounds that allow for each of the two exhaust outlets. The models’ flanks are adorned with Alpina’s signature angular stripe design.
The 14.9-inch curved display of ‘s 3 Series is used inside the D3 and D3 S. Alpina colors the gauges of the digital instrument panel in the company’s original blue and green scheme.
Alpina will work with customers to customize the cabin’s interior, such as selecting the piping, stitching and embossing. The firm also offers Lavalina leather, which is naturally treated.
The B3 sedan is priced at EUR88,600 and the wagon is EUR89,000. The four-door D3 S four-door starts at EUR77,050 and the long-roof version costs EUR78,450. These prices are valid for Germany and include the 19 percent sales tax.
