It is longer and wider than the 3 Series Touring but not available in America.
It’s been a long wait, and it’s not a joke. Since the first E30 BMW M3 was produced in 1980, many people have wondered about a long-roof version. It has been 36 years since the first BMW M3 in 1980, but it is now possible. The 2023 BMW M3 Touring is here! Except for Bimmer enthusiasts in North America or China. If they wish to see a five-door M3 in action, those people will have to travel.
This much we can tell you. BMWonly has the M3 Touring Competition trim. It delivers 503 horsepower (375kilowatts), from the turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-6 engine. This also includes standard-issue xDrive all wheel-drive grip and BMW’s eight speed M Steptronic transmission. In 3.6 seconds, you will reach 62 mph (100 km/h). The optional M Driver’s Pack will allow the wagon to reach speeds of 174 mph if it is kept in the pinned position. The optional M Driver’s Package is required to reach 155mph. Your groceries will never look the same without it.
This might seem like a 3Series Touring with the larger engine and big nose. But you would be wrong. The M3 Touring wagon is 3 inches longer than the standard wagon and 3 inches wider to accommodate the M-specific rear axle. It’s also a bit shorter than the standard wagon. Additionally, there is more space behind the seats so additional bracing has been installed under the car to increase stiffness. The Touring weighs nearly 200 more than the sedan. The tradeoff is 53.3 cubic yards of cargo space when the rear seats are folded.
The M3 Touring’s large, curved display is what makes it stand out. This screen is not available in the M3 sedan. The single screen, which combines the 12.3-inch driver info center and the 14.9-inch infotainment systems in one unit, runs BMW’s latest Operating System 8. This system is M3-specific, so it features M-specific displays that allow you to control a variety of functions. There’s also a 2WD mode if you get tired of all-wheel drive grip.
The rest of the car is a standard M3-issue vehicle. The staggered wheels are 19 inches long at the front and 20 inches at the back. BMW claims that the suspension is designed for fun and is manageable for everyday use. There are many options for color and upgrades, but the roof remains always white.
The order books for the 2023 BMW M3 Touring will open in September. Deliveries in Germany and the UK will begin in December. It will be available in other markets, including Australia, Asia and Europe. However, it will not be available in the United States. Prices start at 97.800 euros.
