The new X2 will feature the same modular architecture as the X1 that is optimized for battery power.
The BMW X2 offers a sportier and more fashionable alternative to the X1, and the compact X3. The M235i trim, which is the pint-sized version of the crossover, has 301 horsepower (225kilowatts) and all-wheel drive. However, reports indicate that BMW may be moving the X2 in a different direction by 2023.
A brand new BMW X1 is due to arrive in 2022. The next year could see a new X2 with many of the same features. We have already seen the Spy photos of X1 Its larger size and multiple powertrain options (gas, plug-in and fully electric) are shown below. According to X1’s new modular design, the front-drive-based architecture will be used. All-wheel drive is an option. AutoBild The X2 should use almost all of these cues.
Expect the new BMW X2 to be larger than the existing model when it arrives in 2023. Because the X1’s modular architecture is bigger, the X2 will likely grow slightly. The X2 should have both a plug-in and a gas powertrain. There is also the possibility of an electric iX2 joining this range. The current X2 xDrive25e has 35 miles of electric range.
The new X1/X2 will have larger kidney grilles. However, these kidneys will be horizontally extended unlike the vertical gaps in the 3/4 Series. The X1 spy shots show that the new kidney grilles will be horizontal rather than vertical. The crossovers will get smaller LED headlights with larger running lights, similar to the spy photos of upcoming X7 facelift.
We won’t be able to know all details about the new BMW X2 until it is officially revealed, which will likely happen in 2022. The new X1 could be available as soon as this year.
