Later in the year, a more refined version will be available for purchase in the USA.
BMW dares to stand out in a world that sees black appearances packages dominating special edition models. You may have heard the narration in Hollywood, but that is because the new X2 Edition GoldPlayrom looks flashier than a Hollywood star at the Met Gala.
The game’s name is gold, and that doesn’t mean a badge. The BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay comes with a gold-trimmed grille surround and mirror caps. There is also gold trim in the wheels and gold striping that runs along the sides to form a unique geometric pattern. Inside, there’s more gold trim in the door sills and contrast stitching. The exterior geometric pattern is also matched on the panels.
BMW also offers the Edition GoldPlay without the gold trim on the wheels. However, this requires that you give up the San Remo Green metallic exterior, which is a new option for the X2 package. The Edition GoldPlay adds lots of black and body-color trim to any color, regardless of what you choose. This is courtesy of the standard M Sport package. This includes the lower intake with three sections, as well as black inserts in front and rear bumpers. There are also window surrounds and pillars. A cool mesh grille is included.
The style is sporty and has some substance. M Sport packages include an M Sport suspension, which lowers the X2 10 millimeters (0.04 inches) and a performance-oriented tuning to the steering. Standard M wheels come in 19 inches, with optional 20-inchers. The gold-stitched seats inside are from the M catalogue. The powertrain options remain unchanged, but Edition GoldPlay is available on a variety of X2 models, including the xDrive25e plug-in hybrid.
There are differences in the US-Specified GoldPlay
The X2 Edition GoldPlay will be offered by BMW in the USA, but it does not have gold trim on the grille surround or mirror caps and the side stripes are removed. The interior trim is the same as before, but the touchscreens on the X2s sold in the US are smaller. GoldPlay’s exclusive color is San Remo green metallic. However, buyers have the option to choose from Sapphire metallic, Skyscraper Grey or Alpine White. The US model comes with the M Sport appearance and suspension upgrades, except for the M grille. North American buyers can purchase the special edition on the sDrive28i and xDrive28i trims.
Production of the 2023 BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay is scheduled to begin in March 2022.
