2023 BMW X5 Update Spied on Video Making Rounds At Nurburgring

BMW’s SAV will likely receive its LCI before the end of 2012.

The current-generation BMW X5 has been around for a while. The G05 version of the Sport Activity Vehicle was shown in 2018 as part of the 2019 model year. It has been a very popular nameplate for this German automaker.

BMW is introducing a Life Cycle Impulse for the X5 to help keep it in demand. The model was tested several times before and wrapped in camouflage front-and-back. YouTube’s CarSpyMedia spotted the five-seat highrider while traveling around the Nurburgring.

The BMW X5 facelift captured at the ‘Ring had its front and back fascias covered up. This is a sign that the automaker has updated the model in these areas. A narrower set of headlights is expected, and a new bumper should be in the plans. The grille could be adjusted, but we don’t expect any size increase. The rear end could get an update to its taillights, despite its heavy concealment.

The cabin will likely see a lot of new updates to keep up with the latest technology.

Details are not available at this time about the powertrain, but we don’t expect any major changes. In Competition form, the high-performance X5 M will continue to use the twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 which produces 617 horsepower and 460 kilowatts.

The X5 M was also spotted during testing, so the design of the performance model will be updated.

The launch date of the new BMW X5 is still unknown. We expect a global unveiling in the second half of the year, just in-time for the 2023 model year.
