Only the lower outlets appear functional.
This spy shot shows the BMW X8 wearing a bit less camouflage. This model has a unique exhaust system with two vertically stacked pipes that come out of the rear bumper.
The exhaust outlets are hexagonal in shape and stack so that the shorter ends are at the top and bottom. This makes them wider in the middle. It appears that only the lower pipe of the X8 is functional. However, we cannot be certain until we have a closer look at them.
The X8 is similar to previous examples but doesn’t reveal too much. The D-pillar and sides of the hood appear to have additional body cladding.
The rear decal with the “Hybrid Test Vehicle”, indicates that it has an electrified motor. Rumours suggest that the M model, which is the most powerful in its class, uses a twin turbo 4.4-liter V8 with a combined electric motor producing 750 horsepower (559kilowatts). A plug-in hybrid would also be available, according to some reports.
Despite its large size, the interior of the X8 will only be available with a two-row layout. A two-row layout with five seats will be available to buyers. A version with two chairs at the back will allow for maximum space for rear passengers.
According to current information, the X8 will debut in late 2021 and go on sale in 2022. The M version will most likely be available in late 2022. The X7 is priced at $74,900. This more expensive version may have a base cost just below six figures.
