2023 Cadillac Lyriq in Production Form, Still Looks Amazing

The new Lyriq will go on the roads in 2022, ranging from street legal to show car.

Cadillac showed the Liriq concept in its first public appearance last year. It was obvious that the electric SUV wasn’t ready for production. It didn’t even come with side mirrors. The brand displayed the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq fully-produced to prepare for its first fully-fledged EV, which will be on the road in early next year. It almost looks exactly like the concept.

The Lyriq concept’s distinctive angles, narrow headlights and unique LED-lined grille are virtually unchanged as it transitions from street legal to show car. Some original cues are lost, such as the large wheels and side-mounted camera. The production version uses 20- or 22 inch wheels and traditional side mirrors. For better visibility, the door construction is slightly different. Overall, however, there are not many changes.

Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic will be available at launch. There are also two options for exterior colors, Sky Cool Gray and Noir. The dash features a 33.0-inch LED display that can reproduce more than one billion colors. Lyriq comes with active noise cancelling and a 19-speaker audio sound system with headrest-mounted speakers.

The new Lyriq will be powered by GM’s Ultium long-range battery system. The Caddy’s 100-kilowatt-hour configuration gives it 340 horsepower (254 kilowatts), 325 pound feet (440 newton meters), and an EPA-estimated range at least 300 miles (483 km). Cadillac confirmed that rear-wheel drive will be standard. However, the Performance all-wheel-drive version will be available later.

Lyriq customers can charge their vehicles at DC fast-charging stations at an affordable rate of 190 kilowatts. This gives the Cadillac 76 mile range in just 10 seconds. A 19.2-kW home charging module is also available. You can also choose to have a 19.2-kW home charging module. This is the fastest charger allowed in the US and gives the Lyriq 52 mile range per hour. Home charging will be standard on the First Release Edition model, and will be available for all subsequent models.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will be in production by early 2022. However, buyers who are interested in the First Release model may order it later in the year. Before options, the base Lyriq will be available at $59990.
