The livestream will begin Tuesday, February 22 at 2:00 AM EST/ 7 AM GMT.
In the meantime, Ranger Raptor It will be replacing the twin-turbo diesel engine with a gasoline motor. As the four-pot makes way for the EcoBoost V6, the cylinder count will increase. The displacement will increase from 2.0 to 3.0 liters, which is more than the oil-burner.
Expect a substantial increase in horsepower over the previous model’s original 210 hp. The gasoline engine should produce well over 300 HP. This assumption is based on the fact that the Explorer ST has 400 horsepower and the Bronco Raptor has more. The turbodiesel produced 369 pound-feet (500 Newton meters), while the gasoline engine produces 415 lbft (562 Nm in the Explorer ST).
The Ranger will have more to it than an upgraded engine, as is the case with all Raptor models. Ford will beef up the truck’s suspension and ride height. They also plan to install all-terrain tires that enhance its go-anywhere capability. To mirror the Bronco Raptor, it could be equipped with a 10-speed auto transmission. It will also have the large “FORD” lettering on its grille. This design cue is also found in the F-150 Raptor to provide a visual distinction from the lower trim levels.
Ford has not yet released details about the standard Ranger models so the hotter Raptor remains a mystery. The new variant, unlike its predecessor, is expected to be available in the United States starting at $52,500. Although it is not clear if the $1,295 destination fee will be included in the price, the information suggests that the new variant will likely cost less than the larger F150 Raptor, which would be $16,000.
The US launched the Ranger seven years ago, but American buyers won’t need to wait so long. According to reports, production at the Michigan plant will begin in May 2023 and finish in 2031. At this time, it is not clear if the Raptor will be on the assembly line as soon as possible or if it will arrive later in its life cycle.
As the livestream begins on Tuesday February 22nd at 2:00 AM ET / 7 AM GMT, the Ford Ranger Raptor will be shown to global markets.
