This sounds very promising.
GMC introduced the Canyon HTML4 offroad-oriented trim back last January. The product quickly gained popularity. GMC may be developing a new Canyon model to boost its market performance in November 2020.
MuscleCarsAndTrucks claims that GMC will be preparing a Canyon AT4X in 2023 to replace the AT4 trim level. The information suggests that it will be a mechanical twin of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. This will mean that there are many performance and suspension improvements over regular trucks.
MCT‘s report shows that the 33-inch Goodyear tires are the most impressive. They will be complemented with Multimatic DSSV dampers, larger wheel arches and larger Goodyear tires. An improved approach angle and departure angle should result in an even better performance on the road.
What will be underneath the hood? According to our source, the Canyon AT4X will be powered by a version L3B turbocharged 2.7-liter L3B engine. This engine is capable of producing around 325 horsepower and 380 pounds-feet torque. It is not believed that a V6 diesel option will be available at this time.
The Canyon AT4X range, just like the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, will be very limited. Customers will only be able choose one body style (crew-cab) and one engine option. These two trucks will only be available with one transmission option. This is due to the encryption of the GM Global B electric architecture.
