The front of the new HR-V is more aggressive, with bigger inlets and larger headlights. The rear appears sleeker.
The 2023 HondaHR-V will debut later in the year. Here are the first official teaser photos of the new model. This is the “Year of the Crossover”, according to the automaker.
These drawings are not representative of the new HRV. However, it is possible to draw some conclusions regarding the styling. The new model’s front is more aggressive than its predecessor, with a prominent lower fascia and black elements at the corners. These are likely more decorative than functional inlets. The grille at the HR-V’s center has an octagonal design with an S-shaped mesh pattern.
The current HR-V headlights are more boxy than the current one (see comparison below). The lamps are located on the upper sections of the front, while the rest of the hood has a lower profile.
The new HR-V rear pillar appears to have a steeper angle than the old model. This could give it a more sleek appearance. The new taillights are smoother and less angular that the original model. The bumper has been revised to move the reflectors higher up and add a body-color element close to the ground.
The North American version of the HR-V is not available in other markets. Honda stated that the new HR-V was designed to address the specific needs of American customers and differ from other versions.
The Fit was removed from the US lineup for 2020. Honda changed the positioning of the Civic Hatchback and HR-V to become entry points. Even the automaker decided to increase production of its HR-V. This was a wise decision as there were 137.090 deliveries in 2021 which was an increase of 63.11% over 2020.
The teaser from Honda gives no details about the new HRV and doesn’t show images of the interior. The 2023 model year means that the new generation of crossovers in the US will debut in the first half.
