2023 Honda ZRV Announced as New C-Segment SUV for Europe

It will launch in 2023 with a hybrid engine.

Honda announces the new ZR-V SUV in Europe. This high-riding SUV will be available on the European market in 2023. It is located between the HRV and CRV models in Honda’s range. We have some information about the crossover at the moment.

It’s not much as Honda isn’t willing to reveal any additional details regarding the new moniker. Only information available at this time is that the ZRV has a hybrid powertrain. It will join the next generation CR-V and the HR-V, which both have electrified engines.

The new ZRV is part Honda’s strategy to replace its European lineup with hybrid vehicles. The new Civic e-HEV will join the SUV and go on sale in the Old continent’s third quarter. It will be interesting for us to see if the ZR-V will either use the hybrid powertrain from the HR-V, or the more powerful hybrid of the electrified Civic. The ZR-V is said to be based on the Civic. We believe the latter.

Our colleagues from Spain Photos taken (see below) The ZR-V version for Europe and China will likely look very similar to its Chinese sibling. The crossover will only be available in the People’s Republic with a 1.5-liter turbo-engine that is not hybrid and mated to an automatic transmission. GAC-Honda will produce the model. Honda wanted to address “the mobility needs Generation Z” and break new paradigms in pursuit of new experiences. The Z in the model’s title comes from Honda.

The ZR-V will be Honda’s first European-exclusive model. The new Civic Type R, which will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with more that 300 horsepower, will be the marque’s last pure combustion-powered vehicle.

Honda is also working on the next-generation CR-V. It is expected to be on sale next year in Europe with a hybrid engine range that will most likely include a plug-in hybrid.
