Digital mirrors now have the option of being purchased.
The November 2011 reports were right, it turns out. With a mid-cycle update for the electric hatchback, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the European market receives a larger battery package. The new model year will also see smaller updates, but we’ll be focusing on the hardware improvements first.
The zero-emissions Hyundai will be available with an optional 77.4-kWh pack, just like the Ioniq 5 for US markets. The new 72.6 kWh battery replaces the older 58 kWh and will be available as an option. The larger battery option offers an 11-horsepower increase and a WLTP-certified range for 315 miles (or 507 kilometers) with a single charge. The heatpump is still an option, and is not included in the standard equipment. The new Ioniq 5 Europe model year’s Ioniq 5 battery heater and conditioning features is a significant upgrade. This adapts the car’s temperature to provide optimal charging conditions for traveling. This allows the car to be more prepared for reaching a charging point, and it also improves charging performance in hot and cold conditions. When a fast-charging location is entered into the car’s navigation system, the feature activates automatically.
A video-based center mirror is also new for the 2023 model year. The mirror is located in the rear spoiler of the vehicle and Hyundai promises optimal visibility with a panoramic rear-facing view. The digital center mirror is not the only one available. Digital side mirrors are also available for the first time ever in Europe on a Hyundai product.
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5, depending on market demand, will come in four trim levels. Namsan Edition is the new flagship model in the range. It features full equipment and the best powertrain specs. The larger 77.4-kWh battery pack, digital mirrors and panoramic roof are included.
