This week’s full design reveal will be held.

Hyundai has released a preview of the highly anticipated Ioniq 6 in advance of the EV’s unveiling this week. A teaser campaign has been conducted for the Tesla Model 3 rival. It began almost two and a quarter years ago, when the Prophecy concept was revealed. Although the road-going model will not be as sleek as the showcar’s, it doesn’t mean that the production version won’t look boring. These up-close renderings look very promising.

The Parametric Pixel design theme was shared with Ioniq 5 These teasers show a third brake light integrated into the rear spoiler. This is a clear sign of crossover. We can see the coupe-like roofline and more squares embedded in the vertical reflectors at back. These side cameras will replace the traditional mirrors on the Ioniq 6.

The smooth surface of the front bumper, which is ready for production, is also shown. This will aid in aerodynamics. The large alloys with intricate spoke designs can be seen, which will likely make it difficult to clean. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6, which will feature pop-out electronic doors handles, will reduce wind resistance and increase range.

The second dedicated EV from Ioniq’s Ioniq series will be described as an “electrified streamer”. It is expected to be available in single- or dual-motor configurations with rear- or all-wheel drive. The most powerful version will have a 77.4-kWh lithium battery and 300 horsepower. Hyundai is currently working on an Ioniq5 N so it’s possible that the sedan will get a hotter version.

The South Korean marque will release fully revealing images later in the week. Technical specifications will be revealed in typical Hyundai/ Kia/ Genesis fashion. The rumor is that all the details will be revealed at the Busan Auto Show 2022 in July, when the Ioniq 6 will make its debut public.

Hyundai will add a full-size, three-row SUV to its Ioniq lineup in 2023. This was previewed by the 7 Concept. It will also be on the E-GMP platform, along with the Ioniq 6 and 6, as well as an equivalent Kia version called EV9. A more luxurious GV90 might also be available from Genesis.
