2023 Hyundai Ioniq6 Rendering Removes the Electric Sedan’s Camo

Soon, the official unveiling will take place.

Let’s face facts, the Ioniq 6 wasn’t going to be the prophecy. Hyundai’s futuristic concept of a four-door Porsche 911 electric vehicle was too good to be true. Although the Concept 45 Concept 45 Ioniq 5 hatchback was faithful, the concept for the Ioniq 5 sedan was a far more ambitious design. Although spy shots show that the production version will not be as sleek, we are still eager to see it.

The Ioniq6 will finally be able to break cover, despite being delayed at the last moment for an emergency redesign. A new batch of renderings shows the electric sedan in multiple colors as well as with various alloy wheel designs. This unofficial design exercise is based on spy photos of camouflaged prototypes. It shouldn’t be far from the truth.

It’s refreshing to see a mainstream sedan in an EV market dominated by crossovers, design aside. Although the Ioniq 6 will have to compete with the BMW and Tesla Model 3, its E-GMP platform is extremely promising. The Ioniq 5 is built on the same architecture as the Ioniq 5, and it was updated in Europe with the 77.4-kWh lithium battery and mirror-replacing cameras.

We can only hope that the future Ioniq5 N will be followed up by an Ioniq6 N, which will compete against the Model 3 Performance as well as the M50. The platform can deliver 576 horsepower and 546 pound feet (740 Newton-meters of torque) as seen in the Kia EV6 GT. These are healthy numbers that electric N models might be able to take advantage of in not too distant future.

Hyundai has already begun planning for a full-size SUV, the Ioniq 7, which will be available in 2024. It will feature three rows of seating and is named the Hyundai Ioniq 7. The Seven Concept showed it off last November. It will be the largest vehicle that can use the dedicated electric platform.
