New and improved Telluride will make its debut at New York Auto Show.
The Kia Telluride, one of the most popular three-rows available today, has been a huge hit since its US debut in 2018. For the 2023 model year Kia will update the Telluride with new exterior styling, more technology and two rugged-ish trims.
The Telluride features an updated headlight treatment. It includes standard LEDs and available LED fog lamps. The bumper is also new. It features more aggressive detailing at the top and bulkier grey inserts below. It retains the Kia “Tiger Nose”, grille, but has new black mesh to offset it.
The 2023 Telluride’s back end looks cleaner thanks to a new bumper design and taillight inserts with sleek vertical LED strips. The updated body panels are covered in three new colors: Midnight Lake Blue (Dawning Red), Jungle Wood Green (Jungle Wood Green) and every Telluride version gets a new wheel design.
The Sportage is now the Telluride’s new Telluride. They bring more style to the Telluride and add some off-road cues. The Telluride gets a new grille and roof rails as well as trim-specific wheels and a 0.4-inch (10-millimeter ) increase in ride height. The X-Pro model gets all the same features, but 18-inch wheels wrapped with all-terrain rubber, and a higher towing capacity at 5,500 pounds.
The same 3.8-liter V6 engine from last year is still available, producing 291 horsepower. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive. Kia has also added a Downhill Brake Control feature for 2023 that allows the SUV to descend on steep roads or off-roads.
The new Telluride has a lot of interesting features. The dash features a 12.3-inch touchscreen that includes navigation, up from 10.3 inches. The new head-up display is larger than the previous, increasing from 8.5 inches to 10.0 inches. It now offers more features.
Kia’s active safety equipment has been expanded in the new Telluride. This includes navigation-based cruise control and Highway Driver Assist 2. Side collision avoidance and steering assist are also included. The 2023 Kia Telluride will go on sale later in the year. However, there is no information on the pricing.
