To inaugurate the fifth generation premium crossover, the 2023 Lexus RX will be on display. Although the exterior styling is familiar, there are many new components beneath. There are four options for buyers, three of which are hybrids. Sales begin in late 2022.
Major Mechanical Updates
The 2023 Lexus RX rides on a GA-K platform. New underpinnings allow the vehicle to shed up to 198 lbs (89.81 kg) over the previous generation. The wheelbase increases by 2.36 inches (5.99 cms), but the rear overhang shrinks to 2.36 inches. This means that the overall length of the vehicle doesn’t change from the previous model.
Because the RX has a longer wheelbase, passengers have more space inside. The lower trim at the rear allows for a reduced load height.
Although the 2023 RX will have four powertrains, Lexus has only provided details about three. The 450h+ plug in hybrid will be revealed later. Below is what we know at the moment:

Extra equipment is available for the RX 500h F sport performance grade. It features six-piston brake discs and 21-inch wheels. The leather upholstery features suede door trims and perforated material at the steering wheel. F Sport branding is used on the tread plates.
A new look
The 2023 RX is available in six trims: Premium, Premium+ and Premium+. Luxury, F-Sport Handling and F-Sport Performance are also available. Depending on the grade, there will be 10 colors available: Ultra White Pearl, Eminent White Pearl and Nebula Gray Pearl.
The Lexus spindle grille 2023 RX features a new version with diamond-shaped sections in its upper section. The RX 500h F sport performance grade features a mesh pattern with a woven design.
The profile of the new RX features an upward-arching section with sculpted sections that leads to the rearfenders. The roof features a floating C–pillar, just like the previous generation. Rear now has full-width taillights.
The new RX’s infotainment screen is lower and placed next to the instrument cluster. You can get a display up to 14 inches. You can also upgrade to a panoramic glass roof or a head-up display.
There are six options for upholstery colors: Black, Birch and Palomino. There are four trim options available: Black Cascade (ash bamboo), Black Open Pore and Dark Graphite Aluminum.
The Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is available on all models of the 2023 RX. This suite of tech includes pedestrian detection, intersection support, motorcycle detection, dynamic radar cruise controller with curve speed management, lane departure alarm with steering assistance, and an emergency driving stopped system. Parallel parking is now possible with the optional Advanced Park system.
