The diesel six-cylinder engine has more than 300 horsepower.

Mercedes has completed the final touches to the C-Class crossover, which is available in wagon and sedan body styles. According to a German report by MB Passion, the revamped GLC will be available for purchase starting June 1. This same source also gives some interesting details about the technical specifications. Rear-wheel steering is possible at a maximum angle 4.5 degrees. This will reduce the turning circle by 10.8 meters (35.4 ft).

We also learn that the GLC will be larger and can reach 4.72 meters (185.8 in) long, whereas the previous model measured 4.65 meters (183.3 in). The compact crossover’s wheelbase will increase by 15mm (0.6 inches), and its cargo capacity will grow 50 liters to 600liters (21.1 cubic feet).

The screens will still be visible, however they will be a little higher. A stretched wheelbase will allow for more legroom for rear passengers than the previous model. This is also the case for the wagon and sedan.

The same source claims that Mercedes will launch the GLC Europe with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology combustion engines and an electric motor of 23 horsepower. Three plug-in hybrids are planned, one with a diesel (30de) and two with gasoline engines (300e & 400e). All models will come standard with 4Matic all-wheel drives and an electric range exceeding 62 miles (100 km) in the WLTP cycle. The PHEV’s battery pack can be charged at 60 kW by its owners.

The GLC, unlike the C-Class’s four-cylinder-only lineup of engines, will still have six-cylinder power. The OM 656M codename will be used for the oil-burner and it will pack more than 300 horsepower. The gasoline units will have 204 HP and 258 HP, while the diesels will have 194 HP and 265 horsepower.

The new Mercedes GLC will be available in Europe starting in September, following its June 1st world premiere. It is likely that the US version will arrive later. Two AMG versions are expected to be released, according to spy shots. The hot versions will be revealed in the coming months, when the C-Class will receive the “53” and HTML63 treatment .
