The lightest person weighs 1,581 kilograms (3.486 pounds).
The new Z was introduced by Nissan in August 2021. However, there are still some juicy details that we don’t know. A leaked order guide for Canada has helped us to identify the key pieces. The Canadian version will look identical to the US model and be available in Sport, Performance, or Proto Spec trims.
The entry-level Z Sport in Canada, equipped with the manual gearbox, weighs 1,581 kg (3,486 lb). The standard six-speed manual is replaced by a nine-speed automatic, which adds 29 kg (64 pounds) to the curb weight to 1,610kg (3,550 lbs).
It is the base trim level and has the smallest amount of kit. For those who don’t remember, the base 370Z with the manual weighed 1,511 kilograms (3,333 lbs), so its replacement has added 70 kg (153 pounds).
Z Performance upgrades the car with larger 19-inch wheels instead of an 18 inch set. It also features a mechanical limited slip differential, eight-speaker Bose audio system, heated front seats and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat. The mid-level Z comes with front and rear spoilers, thicker Nissan Performance brakes, leather on the steering wheel, and seats.
The Proto Spec is the same weight as the Performance, but it has visual upgrades such as yellow brake calipers and bronze wheels, yellow leather upholstery with yellow stitching, yellow brake calipers, and other cosmetic enhancements. The Z Performance and Z Proto Spec weigh 1,604 kg (3.536 lbs) each with the manual, and 1,634 kg (3.602 lbs), with the automatic.
The more luxurious trim levels are 23 kg (51 lbs) heavier in manual mode and 24 kg (53 pounds) lighter in the automatic. This is compared to the base Sport.
Nissan Z Club shared a document that reiterates the twin-turbo, 3.0-liter V6’s 400 horsepower and 350 pound feet (475 Newton-meters of torque) power. The Canadian version includes an engine block heater to keep you warm in the cold winter months. The Z Sport has a 320-mm front brake and 308-mm back brake, while Performance and Proto Spec have a 355mm & 350mm set.
The color palette includes Gun Metallic and Black Diamond Metallic. These colors will be combined with a dark roof: Everest White Pearl, Boulder Grey, Yellow, Passion Red and Yellow. These options are slightly different from what Nissan will offer in the US for the 2023 Z, where it is slated to receive Brilliant Silver and Rosewood Metallic. The Canadian model will be available in Graphite or Yellow and Red.
Dealers are believed to be taking orders in Canada already, although pricing will not be made public until March. Proto Spec will be initially allocated to a small number of dealers based upon how many Zs they sold in 2018 and 2020. A 1,000 CAD deposit will be required to sign your name onto the dotted line.
