2023 Skoda Superb – Rendered after The Official Sketches

It is an evolution and not a revolution.

When we found out Skoda was developing a new generation Superb to compete on the European market, it made us very happy. The Czech company, which is one of Volkswagen Group’s main brands, is heavily betting on SUVs while it still supports the shrinking D-segment in the Old continent.

The new Superb’s design seems to be safe. Petr Matusinec, the brand’s Exterior Designer Coordinator, confirmed earlier this year that the vehicle would follow an evolutionary approach to its exterior design. Early sketches shared similar proportions with the Skoda model that is still in stock at Skoda’s showrooms. The new Superb, like all new Skodas, will increase in size.

Czech automaker Skoda prefers to keep its products at a higher end in each segment’s dimensions. The Fabia, Octavia and Superb – Skoda’s core non-SUV models – are significantly more practical than their direct competitors. This is a huge advantage for European customers. The new Superb will be larger to make it possible for the current Octavia to remain on the market.

We can’t help but notice that the new Superb will be following a similar design path to the Octavia. Skoda had sketched a front that was almost identical to that of the Octavia. These new renderings confirm that. Kolesa.ru created computer drawings of Superb liftback. It has a sloped roofline, wide and narrow taillights that are reminiscent of the Octavia liftback.

Prototypes of the new Superb with a production body and lights are expected to be available soon. We’ll be able to get a better idea of the D-segment model once the test cars have been put on public roads.
