You want your Toyota Corolla Cross to be a little more efficient? You are in luck. The Corolla Cross Hybrid is a new addition to Toyota’s lineup for 2023. It introduces the world Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, which is more efficient than ever before.
The hybrid can return an estimated 37 MPG combined with standard all-wheel drive (optional on other Corolla Cross models). It is powered by an electrified 4-cylinder engine producing 194 horsepower (143kilowatts). This is 25 more horsepower (18 kW) than the non-hybrid standard model. The Corolla Cross Hybrid can also accelerate to 0-60 mph in 8.0 seconds. This is more than one second faster than the pure gasoline model.
The front fascia has been updated with minor improvements. Buyers can now choose from five trims – LE, XLE, S, SE and XSE – with Sport options available for the SE and XSE models. The four previous trims have standard cloth seats, while the XSE model comes with premium SofTex faux-leather.
There are six options for solid paint, including Wind Chill Pearl, which costs $425 more. You can also combine four colors with a black roof: Sonic Silver (pictured here), Blue Crush (pictured here), and Acidic Blast (pictured below), which is an entirely new color.
Each Corolla Cross Hybrid is equipped with an electrified powertrain and the improved Toyota infotainment systems. The standard touchscreen of 8.0 inches now includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, and a 4G wifi hotspot. There are also more USB-C ports throughout. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is also standard. It includes adaptive cruise control, automatic braking with pedestrian detection and lane-keep assistance with lane-centering.
The price of the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid 2023 is unknown, but you can expect to pay a slight premium over the standard gasoline model. The price of the 2022 Corolla Cross is $23,660, with a $1,215 destination charge. We expect the hybrid model for 2023 to be around $25,000, especially with its enhanced tech suite.
