Toyota launched the new GR86 a year ago. Now, the company is enhancing the sports car’s affordability with a special edition. The MY change is a limited-run model, much like the Supra. The orange RWD machine is dressed in a Solar Shift paint and features a pair black stripes on its rear pillar. Toyota fitted the GR86 Special Edition 18-inch matte black alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires to make it worthwhile. The exterior changes include the ducktail spoiler, and the embossed “GR” logo. Although images of the interior have not been revealed and the video doesn’t show the cabin either, we do know the car gets has an Ultrasuede/leather-trimmed interior with a special badge color-coded with the exterior.
The Special Edition will only be available in 860 vehicles. It is based on Premium trim levels. Toyota says the exhaust allows the engine to emit a “deep, growling sound” and is not just for show. It’s not known how much the exhaust will cost, but expect to pay a premium (get) ) for the 2022 GR86 Premium starting at $30,300
