2023 Toyota Supra Allegedly Getting a Manual, Exclusive To Six Cylinder

2023 Toyota Supra Allegedly Getting Manual, Exclusive To Six-Cylinder

A press release is expected to arrive on April 28.

An eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters is the only available gearbox in the new Toyota Supra. There have been rumors about a manual-equipped model soon since its debut. Toyota didn’t respond to such claims until January. However, a new leak suggests that Supra owners may be able to drive their own cars starting with the 2023 model.

Imgur screen shots allegedly confirm the model and provide important dates and details. We recommend that you have a healthy amount of skepticism when dealing with such things. However, we reached out to Toyota to leave a comment. This story will be updated when Toyota responds.

Images reveal that the only six-cylinder Supra 2023 Supra will have the six speed manual. The four cylinder models will still offer the eight speed automatic. A manual six-cylinder Toyota would offer is a way to differentiate it from its BMW stablemate. This manual is only available in select markets and requires a manual gearbox. Even then, BMW offers it only on the four-cylinder base model. The manual six-cylinder Supra would be a great choice.

Toyota will also offer a Matte White Edition manual-equipped model with an exclusive white exterior and tan leather interior. The Matte White Edition will offer wireless charging and USB ports, while costing an additional Y=550,000 ($4,766 according to current exchange rates). The six-cylinder Supra starts from $52,665 (the price does not include the $1,025 delivery charge).

We might be able to find out more about the model soon if the images are correct. A press release with the production schedule for Austria will be sent out on April 28th. The manual models will be available to dealers in October. They will also go on sale the following month. Toyota stated that the Supra will receive upgrades every year and that adding a manual transmission to it would be a major change. Rumours of an super-hot GRMN variant are out there, but they will serve as the model’s final hurrah. The manual will be available for the next few months.
