The entry-level ID process is under way.
The Volkswagen Group pledged to launch 75 electric cars and 60 hybrids before the end of the last year. This number would also include hybrids and EVs from other brands that fall under the German marque’s wing. This announcement was made with the introduction the production-spec ID.3 hatchback. It is the first in the VW ID electric range.
VW revealed the official name for its ID crossover in light of the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show. ID.4 . The ID.4 is also the first ID to be shipped to the United States, and the first electric crossover made from the German marque.
VW appears to be determined to fulfill its promise to launch the promised number EVS within its timeframe. According to Car Magazine U.K., the ID.1 will be the smallest and most basic of the ID range and will offer easy maneuverability in the city.
Car Magazine U.K. reported that ID.1 spinoffs such as the ID.1 Crozz or e-Roomzz van are in progress. The versatile MEB architecture will underpin the ID.1 electric car, as well as the ID.3 or ID.4.
The ID.1 will have two battery options for its range. Most likely, it will come with 24 kWh or 36 kWh. According to reports, the larger battery pack will have 298 km or 185 miles of range.
