2023 VW Amarok – Design Details in a New Round of Teasers

July 7th will see the debut of this rugged truck

The Volkswagen Group is a huge automaker and has a lot of truck problems. It’s not surprising that the Amarok’s second-generation is being promoted by the conglomerate’s commercial arm. The body-on-frame pickup made its debut July 7. It has undergone a long teaser campaign which shows no sign of slowing down.

The 2023 Amarok’s latest preview shows more of its production skin, including chunky wheel arches and matrix LED headlights. It also features two-tone wheels with six instead of five lug nuts. The Ford Ranger truck will feature decals with black graphics along the lower sides of the doors. The Panamericana-colored pickup seems to be the rugged trim, and the Panamericana is the silver variant. It’s most likely the Aventura.

Teasers from the past have shown that the new Amarok will feature a portrait-oriented touchscreen, a 12-inch diagonal, and Ford’s SYNC4 operation system. While there will be some physical buttons below the huge display, most functions will be integrated into the central display. Some traditional controls will still be available around the gear lever, so you don’t have to look at the road.

A teaser image of the truck’s new tailgate was shown in its entirety. It featured prominent “AMAROK”, debossed letters, as well as large V6 and 4Motion badges at each corner. The smaller versions will be able to use four-cylinder powertrains, while the more affordable ones will have rear-wheel drive.

The new Amarok double cab flavor Amarok will measure 5,350 millimeters (211 in) in length, while the wheelbase measures 3,220 mm (327 in). The sizes of the alloys will vary from 17 inches for the base model to 21 for the top-of-the-line trim. Although the Raptor treatment has been applied to the new Ranger, it is not yet known if VW will apply an identical Amarok R.

The new ute will be in production at Ford’s South African plant after its premier a week ago. As VW continues assembly in Pacheco (Argentina), the original Amarok will be available.
