The 11th generation Accord is expected to debut in 2023.
Sedans aren’t dead at Honda. Honda’s long-running Accord will see its 11th generation. These spy photos of a camouflaged test vehicle give us our first glimpse at the new model.
The overall shape is very similar to the Accord. The order of the day is still sleek lines and a long, sloped roof. The sedan’s bones may be carried over to the next generation, but the front and rear will be completely new. You can see the slimmer headlights flanking the grille, which is a little larger overall. The grille is separated from the openings in the lower fascia by a clearly marked bumper. The hood appears flatter. It appears that the overhang in front of the front wheels is shorter.
We believe that the C-shaped reflectors and taillights on the current model will be able to detect slimmer lenses. The trunk lid’s body sculpting looks very similar to the current Accord. However, it could be a fake panel to confuse curious observers. There are more fake panels visible on the doors. This prototype is wearing a basic camouflage cover, but there is more to it.
The sedan’s proportions don’t seem to have changed much. The wheelbase is the same. If the next-gen Accord features the current platform, at least some engine options may be retained. The 1.5-liter engine produces 192 horsepower and is the most popular. The upgrade is the 252-hp 2.0 liter engine. There’s also an Accord hybrid that uses a non-turbocharged, 2.0-liter with an electrical motor for 212 combined horsepower. Other electrified options may be available, but they might not appear at the initial launch.
Honda confirmed that the next-generation Accord Hybrid would debut after the new CR-V Hybrid. The CR-V will be arriving later in the year, making it reasonable to expect that the Accord will follow suit. We are currently targeting an early 2023 debut of the 2024 model year.
