The development of the next-generation Panamera is still in its early stages.

When we saw the Porsche Panamera prototype, we were surprised to see a completely different front fascia. This could indicate a major facelift but it is more likely that this is a new generation luxury sedan. The car we saw a few months ago could have been a test mule for next-gen Panamera.

Porsche has a reputation for taking long time to develop new vehicles. It shouldn’t surprise that it is currently working on the Panamera. It was last updated for the model year 2021, so we expect it to be available for at least two years more. The brand new Panamera will not arrive in 2024 if Stuttgart continues to update their model every four years.

This rendering was shared by Motor.es, our friends and colleagues. This rendering depicts the next-generation Panamera. It is based upon spy photos taken in February of this year. Although it is too early to know if this preview is correct, we do know that it closely follows the design changes made on the prototype.

As you can see we don’t anticipate a drastic departure in the silhouette. The Panamera will likely keep its hatchback-like rear end. The car’s dimensions will increase slightly, and its overall profile may become more sleek. A sportier look could be achieved by a slightly shorter overhang.

The Panamera will continue to be powered by the Taycan, which is its all-electric brother. According to unconfirmed rumors however, all powertrains available will be plug in hybrids, with the most powerful competing directly with the Mercedes AMG GT 63 E Performance.

We will be sharing more information in the coming months. However, we doubt that we will see prototypes of production bodies with test prototypes before 2023.
