More than 21,000 horsepower are under one roof.
There is nothing better than getting the keys to your new and heading to Ingolstadt Germany to pick up the supercar right from the factory. After spending a lot of money on the most expensive car in the company’s inventory, 38 people were able to take delivery.
These R8s are the first to get a facelifted look. While they don’t have any fancy upgrades from Audi Exclusive as that would delay delivery, they still look stunning. There are Coupes and Spyders, some are V10 Quattros and others are V10 Performance Quattros – all of them are highly desirable
YouTuber Seen through Glass pointed out that one car stands out is the Vegas Yellow Spyder. It has a satin finish and lots of carbon fiber accents. Although we prefer a black coupe with bronze wheels and a brown interior, we also love the base model in silver because it brings back fond memories of the R8.
It is not often that 38 R8s are found under one roof. This is a result of the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10. The engine produces a healthy 562 horsepower in the standard version, and 612 horsepower in the Performance model. Audi decided not to introduce a lower-priced entry-level model despite rumors. This would have had the twin-turbo, 2.9-liter V6 and the naturally aspirated, 4.2-liter H8 from the first-gen R8.
The fully electric HTML8 E-Tron with a seven-digit price tag was also discontinued approximately two and a quarter years ago, after less than 100 examples were sold. The R8 can be purchased only with the V10 FSI. However, it’s worth hurrying as the future of the supercar is not looking bright. Audi stated that the R8’s only hope of survival is to become an electric generation, but it isn’t sure if this will happen since battery technology might not be up to par by 2022.
