Here’s one of the 1,270 Carrera GTs ever made.
Rare supercars are rare. Even more so, cars with low mileage. This 2005 Porsche Carrera GT is an example of that. This might be the newest Carrera GT currently being sold as a used vehicle, with only 69 miles (111 km) on its odometer.
You can find the listing for the 2005 Carrera GT, which has been barely used, here Auto Hebdo French online marketplace for vehicles. The listing only contains the interior color brown and the words “Time capsule condition”, which we completely agree with.
The history of the Carrera GT is briefly described below. The supercar was almost impossible to create, but the Cayenne allowed Porsche engineers to design the Carrera GT concept car, which houses the V10 Formula One motor that they have been working on since 1992. Porsche had to focus its efforts on the Cayenne SUV and the V10 project was canceled. This allowed the German marque to create a concept car from it to show their appreciation for their hard work.
The enthusiasm of early Carrera GT fans forced Porsche to convert the concept into a supercar with rear-mid-engine production.
The Carrera GT was limited to 1,270 units. Each Carrera GT came with a 5.7-liter V10 engine that produces 603 horsepower and 435 pounds-feet. It is coupled to a six speed manual transmission. The unit for sale is one such unit and, 13 years later it still looks factory fresh.
The downside is that you can only buy the car for $1,599 995. It is a bit expensive, yes, but it should be a centerpiece for collectors, considering its condition and the history.
