This is the closest you can get to a Ferrari P4 race car.
In response to the Ford GT, Ferrari created the 330P4 in 1967. It was both more aerodynamic and more powerful than the P3 it replaced. The V12’s total output was 450 HP (335 kilowatt). The three-valve head of the three-valve engine was inspired by the Italian Grand Prix-winning Formula One cars.
New engineering means new success. One P4 would win 1967 Monza 1000 Kilometers. Three of the four P4s would finish first, second and third at 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. In 1969, the P4 was quickly overtaken by the 312 P. The remaining chassis would then be sold to private collectors.
The car you see is not one of these four vehicles. It is a exact replica made by P4 by Norwood, Rockwall, Texas. This company is known for making some of the most beautiful Ferrari P4 replicas. This example is available on eBay now, but it’s not cheap.
This stunning replica is available for purchase starting at $850,000. It can be delivered to your home tomorrow, hypothetically. The Ferrari 575 V12, which produces 500 horsepower (372 kilowatts), is under the hood. It also has a Motec ECU. Except for the engine and ECU, all components are identical to the 1967 original P4.
Enzo’s original design is reproduced in the chassis, which is hand-forged from chromoly tube and chromoly steel. Each fluid tank is made from aluminum by hand. The gold wheels are identical to the 1967 model.
It is street legal, in case you were curious. It is registered in Texas as a specialty construction vehicle with VIN TEX114248, which includes a year of technical support by Norwood’s builders, P4 By Norwood.
It is as close as you can get to owning the real deal – unless your name happens to be James Glickenhaus.
