Many stories exist about how this could happen.
Photographs of the aftermath show a Volvo semi colliding with a Ferrari GTC4Lusso at an loading dock. Because there are so many claims about the cause of the collision, it feels like Rashomon to unravel the story.
Reddit ‘s first published this story. It claimed that the company owner stopped paying its drivers, so one of the employees parked his semi on the Ferrari owners and left it there. This is not true. Tire Meets Road did some great reporting and discovered other explanations in social media posts. The semi driver was not a payment issue, but was facing termination. He allegedly retaliated by hitting the boss’ Ferrari.
Tire Meets Road also found a Facebook comment by someone claiming to be a trucking company worker. One person claimed that the business had promised a semi driver a 2020 truck but that the worker’s poor performance caused it to fail. It ended in the same way as all other versions of the story: the worker who was disgruntled crashed into the GTC4Lusso. The damage to the Ferrari suggests that it could be repaired, provided the insurance company doesn’t consider the Prancing Horse too costly to repair and write off. Although the damage appears to be cosmetic, the oil trail that runs alongside the GTC4Lusso suggests more serious mechanical problems.
Although the semi may need to be maintained on its bumper, it seems otherwise good. The Volvo’s Volvo doesn’t seem to have sustained any damage due to its size and weight difference.
