A Early Reveal of 2020 Buick Envision S for China

Although the image quality isn’t great, the crossover looks very attractive.

We shared images of the updated Buick Envision in October 2019, images that probably previewed the crossover soon to be available in North America. New images from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show a more compact version of the model.

Buick has not yet commented on the new model. However, reports from China suggest that the Envision S model will be sold under the Envision S brand. AutoHome lists this compact crossover as the Envision S.

The new S will look better than the regular Vision and it is expected to be a more luxurious product that can be positioned higher than the standard model. The model will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine that produces close to 240 horsepower. It is also expected to produce more than 250 pound-feet.

GM Authority reports that the Envision S will make its way to the States, where it will be sold along with the Envision facelift. It will slot below the Enclave. Although the report mentions that the new model could replace the standard model in the future, nothing is confirmed at the moment. The official unveiling of the CN-spec model will take place in the coming weeks or months. However, we’ll need to wait for the North American version, if it is indeed slated for a U.S. release.

It’ll be interesting to see if that is true. If it will, it’ll also be interesting to know where it will go.
