A group of executives are the main focus of the show, trying to rediscover their company amid massive industry changes. General Motors Authority noted several similarities between the fictional worlds of Payne Motors, and General Motors. The American automotive giant is headed by Mary Barra, who was the first woman to be CEO of a major manufacturer. This, contrary to popular belief.

The show will likely cover current automotive topics such as the shift towards electric cars and labor struggles. Justin Spitzer’s past work shows that he doesn’t shy away from touching on touch-and-go issues.
