A New Chevrolet Trax will Debut in 2022

In 2023, the new Trax will be in production.

The Chevrolet Trax subcompact crossover will be getting a new generation. This is despite the fact that the Buick Encore was axed, even though it rides on the same platform as the Chevy and has mechanically identical features.

Roadshow was told by a spokesperson for Chevrolet that the automaker would unveil an all-new Trax in the coming months. Production of the current model will cease in 2022. The assembly of the next-generation crossover will start in the first half 2023.

In 2021, Chevy sold 42,590 Trax units. This figure was 59.9% lower than the model’s 106 299 deliveries in 2020. The Trax’s volume in the first quarter 2022 was 5,801 units. This was a 65.8 per cent drop from 16,955 vehicles in Q1 2020.

According to a March report, Buick was planning to discontinue Encore after the 2022 model-year. This was correct.

It has sold worse than the Trax in recent years. In 2021, the company shipped 20,072 Encores – a 51.9 per cent drop over 2020. Buick sold 2,620 Encores in Q1 2022 – a 59% decrease from the same period last year.

Chevy has updated the Trax to the 2021 model-year with an updated turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 153 horsepower (114 Kilowatts) as well as 177 poundfeet (248 Newton-meters). The previous version had 138 horsepower (103 kW), and 148 pounds (201 Nm) of torque. Direct fuel injection was adopted instead of port injections.

The Opel Mokka Europe Trax and Encore were closely related by the Encore and Trax. Opel has been absorbed into the Stellantis stable, so the new Mokka is not related to the old version.

The Mokka can even be purchased as an EV in Europe. The powertrain produces 136 horsepower (100 kW) as well as 192 lbft (260 Nm), of torque. The battery can provide 200 miles (322 km) of range with a 50-kilowatt hour charge. The maximum speed is 93 mph (150 km/h).
