He survived the attack without serious injuries.
The 44-year old driver of a BMW crashed into a tunnel at the top. This is one of those accidents that you need to witness to believe. He crashed into the tunnel’s upper section, just like Burnout Paradise. Surprisingly, he was not intoxicated. The Slovakian man turned his car into an airplane, proving that tired driving can be as dangerous as a DUI.
The car was seen veering right in front of the tunnel’s entrance on footage taken just before 5 AM on December 20, at Borik Tunnel near Poprad, Slovakia. Initial reports suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep according to local police. The elevated concrete slab that he hit was basically a ramp.
Sparks fly upon impact. The same can be said about the car. The BMW crossover, which appears as an X1, crashes into a tunnel’s top and then comes crashing down, doing a 360-degree spin. Amazingly, the vehicle lands on all four wheels in the same direction as the road. Although the aftermath looks scary, the driver was able to escape without serious injuries. His life is not in danger.
Although it is not clear how fast he was traveling, his guardian angel saved the day. Bayerische Motoren Werke is the name of that guardian angel. This horrible accident shows how far cars have advanced in safety, even though it would have been fatal a few decades back.
