The Jeep Wrangler, Ford Maverick and Ford Maverick are the top two choices.
Vehicle prices vary across the United States for a variety of reasons. Dealer markups are becoming a very common phenomenon, making it difficult to find a dealer who sells new cars at the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail price (MSRP).
Recent market research by iSeeCars found that the average car price in the US is 9.9 per cent higher than the MSRP.
Some vehicles sell more than others. These include the Jeep Wrangler, the Ford Maverick and the Ford Maverick which both sell 25 percent more than MSRP. The markup can be even higher in some states.
The iSeeCars Study has the complete list and the car with the highest markup for each state.
Although the Ford Maverick’s MSRP is lower than the Wrangler’s, the markup relative to that MSRP is higher. Pennsylvania has the highest markup, with 34.7 percent for Ford compact trucks.
The study however shows that the Jeep Wrangler’s markup is higher than the MSRP in most states, at 15. Next is the Wrangler Unlimited, which has the highest markup in 9 of its states. Jeep vehicles are the most expensive automobiles in all of 30 states.
This discrepancy in pricing is attributed to low new car inventories due to production shut downs and supply chain problems.
