The Countryman Oxford Edition also joins the party.
Mini offers a low-priced model that is only available to students, recent graduates, active or retired military personnel for a few years. The Oxford Edition is appropriately named. It includes a nice selection of equipment that would normally cost thousands more.
Mini decided to make the Oxford Edition available to all, regardless of military experience or education. The Oxford Edition now includes the larger Countryman, with front- or all-wheel drive. The latest editions of the Oxford Edition are priced lower than standard-issue models, but offer some fancy extras.
Mike Peyton, Vice President of Mini Americas, stated that the Oxford Editions offer Mini models at an affordable price with great value. However, Mini’s style, substance and fun-to-drive characteristics are preserved. Mini’s Oxford Editions are available to all and the Countryman Oxford Edition is an additional way to make Mini more accessible to customers.
Countryman Oxford Editions start at $25,900 and the All4 edition starts at $27,900. This is a $3,000 and $2,500 discount compared to Classic models. It does not include $850 in destination fees. Prices include an upgraded 18-inch wheel, heated front seats and an anthracite headliner. They also come with automatic climate control and six exterior color options. Mini claims that the additional equipment is worth $5,000.
The price leaders are the Cooper standard Cooper two-door, and four-door Oxford Editions. The two-door Cooper starts at $19,750, while the four-door Oxford Edition costs $3,650 more than the entry-level model. The Cooper receives upgraded wheels in 17 inch flavor, heated seats and six color options. Standard equipment includes a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Mini is effectively slashing the price of its base-model Coopers and Countrymans. Mini is not revealing how long the all-inclusive offer will last, but it will make available the Countryman Oxford Edition in limited quantities starting in July. The Cooper is now available.
