The wagon produces 790 horsepower, compared to the Lamborghini’s 640.
An Audi RS6 Avant Avant and a Lamborghini Huracan aren’t directly competitors. The conversation changes when the Huracan STO and an ABT Audi RS6 Avant Johann Abt Signature Edition are seated next to each other for a drag race. Although the two are very different, some differences vanish when they race down the drag strip. This is what Daniel Abt’s YouTube video shows.
The engine specs are almost identical. ABT tuned Audi to produce 790 horsepower (589 Kilowatts) & 723 poundfeet (980 Newton meters) of torque. However, the Avant could achieve 738 lbft (1,099 NM) This is more than the twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8’s standard output. The Huracan STO is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 that produces 630 horsepower (470kW) and 417lb-ft (565Nm) of torque.
Although the Audi has an advantage due to its all-wheel drive system, it is heavier than the Lamborghini. The Audi weighs in at 4,739 lbs (2,150 kg). The Huracan STO only powers the rear wheels. However, it is lighter than the Audi, at 2,951 lbs (1 339 kg).
The first race was a quarter mile long and the Audi’s AWD enabled it to launch itself off the line ahead. The Audi is too heavy to maintain its lead. However, the Lamborghini slipped ahead just before the finish, finishing the quarter-mile race at 10.89 seconds. This is a little faster than the Audi’s 11.17 second time, which is quite impressive for a family wagon.
The Lamborghini doesn’t have as much legroom in the 800-meter half-mile races that follow. Both the Lamborghini and Audi finish fairly close in both cases, but the Lamborghini finishes faster, clocking 16.97 and 16.91 seconds, respectively. The Audi took 17.33 seconds and 17.21 seconds respectively. The Audi’s only advantage, AWD, was eliminated in the final rolling races. However, the Lamborghini managed to put considerable distance between them before reaching the finish line.
A straight-line drag race would show the differences between them, but the story on the track is quite different. The lightweight, faster, and more track-oriented Lamborghini would win over the heavier Audi.
