ABT has created the ultimate Audi RS6 Avant with 725 Horsepower

Pop quiz: Which Audi car has the most powerful engine in its portfolio? It could be the R8 V10 plus, but in reality it is the RS6 Avant Performance Nogaro Edition which was launched earlier this year with 695 horsepower. The super wagon was created by Audi Sport and ABT in collaboration with ABT. It is limited to 150 units.

Ingolstadt decided to develop Ingolstadt’s “family car”, to create the RS6+ Avant Performance Nogaro Edition with a massive 725 hp. The twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 engine was further modified to produce a mountain-moving 680 pounds-feet (920 Newton meters) of torque and an additional 30 lb/ft (40 Nm), over the “regular” Nogaro Edition.

Both wagons in Nogaro Blue are essentially the same. However, we find the new RS6+ to have a more aggressive look due to the extra carbon fiber body parts and glossy black optics package. We also like the prominent front splitter. The wheel size has increased by one inch to 22 inches for an added visual impact.

According to official statistics, the vehicle can go from 0 to 62 miles (0-100 km/h) in just 3.1 to 3.2 seconds. It lost the drag race by three-tenths. As you can see, it fought hard against the V10 Plus equipped with Performance Parts.

All eyes now turn to Audi, and the next-generation RS6 Avant. According to the rumor mill, a horsepower increase over the Performance’s 605 HP is unlikely. However, it will provide more torque and reduce weight.

After next year’s debut, the warm S6 Avant, the new RS6 Avant is likely to be available sometime in 2020.
