The Titan isn’t as popular as trucks from the Big Three.
According to Autoline Network, the Nissan Titan will not be replaced by the company when it’s time to upgrade the truck to a new generation. This is according to Auto Forecast Solutions. The Titan isn’t as popular with buyers than trucks from the Big Three.
Autoline was denied the rumour by a Nissan spokesperson. The video shows that the Titan is being built and sold by Nissan, so it would be a mistake for the automaker to claim that the truck is about to be retired.
There had been earlier indications that Nissan might end production of Titan. The brand has stopped selling the truck in Canada as the company wants to concentrate on sedans and crossovers in this market.
For the 2020 model year , major changes were made to the Titan XD and Titan XD. The new styling language was called “Powerful Warrior” by Nissan. Changes included a revamped front and LED taillights. There was an 8.0-inch standard center screen as well as an optional 9.0-inch one. The new powertrain featured a 5.6-liter V8 engine and a nine speed automatic to replace the seven-speed gearbox.
Titan sales have been somewhat improved by the update. In 2019, Nissan shipped 31,514 trucks and 26,439 units in 2020. However, deliveries rose 17.4% to 22,772 units in the third quarter 2021.
Although the Titan is performing better in 2021 than it did in 2020, its volume still trails pickups from the Big Three. Ford has sold 603,090 F-Series units and 79,924 Ranger vehicles through October. In Q3, Chevy delivered 296,286 light-duty Silverados and 51,555 Colorados.
In an attempt to attract buyers, Nissan offered Titan Titan incentives. The pickup buyers could get a 99-cent lease for a Leaf EV. Another deal was with a 7-year loan on a Titan.
