Acura Gets More Out of 2019 NSX and Adds Orange Paint

Are you happy that the Acura NSX has been sharpened for 2019?

It seems like yesterday that we first saw the Acura NX in sheet metal. Three years after its debut in Detroit the super coupe will be getting a minor overhaul. The 2019 NSX will be displayed at the Pebble beach Concours with new paint and performance upgrades as well as new packaging.

The most noticeable revision is the Thermal Orange Pearl paint job. It is named after Thermal Raceway in California and continues Acura’s colourful homage to race tracks all over the globe. It’s not limited to sheet metal. Buyers can also get orange brake discs.

The updated exterior styling and new color options make the 2019 NSX stand out from its predecessor. The body’s color now matches the front grille garnish, which was previously finished in silver. High-gloss treatment is also given to the grille surround, rear bumper outlet mesh and front air intake mesh. The Carbon Fiber Decklid Spoiler, Carbon Fiber Exterior Package, and optional Carbon Fiber Decklid Spoiler are also available. You can choose from Indigo Blue leather or Alcantara for the cabin.

The standard equipment now includes four-way power adjustable seats, satellite navigation and premium audio. The manually adjustable sport seats can be purchased at no additional cost, in Black Milano leather or Alcantara.

The updates go beyond skin-deep. The NSX is now 26 percent stiffer at the front and 19 percent stiffer at the back thanks to larger stabilizer bars. The NSX now takes two seconds less around Suzuka Circuit with a quick tune, and the new Continental SportContact 6 tires.

The power however, remains the same. The V6’s mid-mounted twin-turbocharged hybrid V6 still generates 573 horsepower (427 Kilowatts) as well as 476 pound-feet (645 Newton meters) of torque. It is also paired with the same nine speed dual-clutch gearbox as last year and the Super-Handling all wheel-drive system.

The 2019 NSX will be available at $157,500. It’s a little more expensive, but well worth it. A mere $1,500 price hike adds $4,000.
