Customer deliveries begin next month.
Acura’s hand-built car collection has grown with the RDX. Acura will offer a PMC Edition crossover for the 2021 model-year. Acura will also limit the production run of the RDX, much like the previous PMC (Performance Manufacturing Center cars). The RDX PMC will give customers a crossover with a variety of visual upgrades including Acura’s bright Thermal Orange Pearl paint.
The RDX PMC Edition, which combines the A-Spec and the Advance Package of the crossover, is the best-equipped model. The crossover comes with several exclusive upgrades, including 20-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, a body color grille surround, black chrome exhaust finishers, and a 20-inch gloss-black wheel. You can also find other touches like a gloss-black roof and side mirrors. However, you won’t be able to miss the bright paintwork.
Acura’s bright orange interior features color-matched orange stitching throughout. This contrasts well with the dark interior. A 10.5-inch color head up display, 16-way power sports seats, heated outboard rear chairs, and a heated steering column are some other interior highlights.
2021 RDX PMC Edition uses the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as the standard model. The engine produces 272 horsepower (379 kilowatts), and 280 pound-feet (379 nms) of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed manual gearbox and Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system. This exclusive model comes standard equipment.
Acura will build the special RDX in the same way it did with the TLX, and MX. It takes five days to complete the pain process before assembly can begin. Acura will then put the car through the same quality control as the NSX, before wrapping it in protective film and putting it on a single-car trailer. Acura has not yet announced pricing but the company says it will start at the low $50,000 mark. Acura will limit production to only 360 examples.
