Many people will be familiar with Adam Savage’s exploits on Mythbusters. After an incredible tenure on Discovery, he returned briefly to the big screen with Savage Builders. The latest episode teases a Mad Max-style car fight.
Savage will be fought by Laura Kampf and Simone Giertz, both internet personalities and experts in inventorship. Giertz is known for her YouTube videos that feature many useful and ineffective inventions. Kampf, on the other hand, has established a reputation for herself by posting her weekly builds online.
The semantics aside, each car will have three targets on its top and sides. Points will be given for capturing them. Simone focuses on close-quarter weapons, while Adam and Laura chose to attack from a distance.
Giertz modified her chariot to counter the brute force approach of both the other two. She aims to puncture the tires in the competition’s place. A spiked tail is the main feature of the modifications. It aims to remove air from the tires of any competitor. A slashed tire will make it extremely difficult for any vehicle to control as the race is on a loose surface.
Laura will be using her vehicle as a battering ram, contrary to other vehicles. The Ford Crown Victoria is a reliable vehicle that has been used by the American police force over the decades. However, Laura is upgrading the front of her car to take on the competition. To attack other vehicles at close range, she also fitted the Crown Vic with a skeet-shooter target machine.
Adam Savage uses a pitching machine equipped with golf balls as his weapon of choice. He wants to take out the competition from far away while protecting himself with cunning and a pair of metal tusks attached to his vehicle’s front. The episode ends with an entertaining battle between each approach.
