Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey is also responsible for designing the championship-winning Formula One cars. hinted at Autocar that the division may be developing a new road car following the Aston Martin Valkyrie.  Red Bull Advanced Technology was established for this exact project. However, it has grown and matured and we have quite a few commercial projects on our books now,” Newey explained to Autocar. Because of our extra experience, it’s easier to get a road car or track-biased vehicle that can be on the road in a shorter timescale.

Newey resisted the temptation to reveal too many details. “So yes, absolutely, that’s what we want to do with another vehicle. It’s still unclear what exactly that means and who it is aimed at. “Watch this space is probably the best way to put it,” he said to Autocar. The Aston Martin/Red Bull introduced the AM-RB 001 in 2016. It slowly evolved into the Valkyrie. The hypercar is expected to be delivered in September 2021.

Newey had the opportunity to test drive a preproduction Valkyrie at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and shared some impressions of this hypercar. Newey stated that the car is still in its early stages and needed some work to become fully functional. “The Goodwood car didn’t have an active suspension, and there is still much mapping work to be done. It will be truly special when all the pieces come together. Newey views the Valkyrie like a superbike-style motorbike. It can be driven on the roads, but you need to pay close attention due to its performance capabilities. Only on the track can you unleash your machine to its full potential.
