It is built on Sprinter’s shortest wheelbase but is 4×4 and fully loaded.
Motor1.com closely follows Advanced RV. Advanced RV’s work, whether it be news about its unique B-Box RV or the numerous custom camper vans it makes for clients, is always interesting and high quality. The latest model is the Kelvin. It has a 144-inch wheelbase Sprinter van with fourx4.
Unnamed owner of the Kelvin is a photographer and traveler who wanted to be able work from anywhere. He also desired a van that had all the amenities of home and a large office. Advanced has managed to achieve both of these goals in a Sprinter’s short wheelbase.
The Kelvin’s interior layout is very similar to the one we shared with you previously. The Kelvin’s interior is more subtle with muted blue accents around the lower half and two-tone accents at the windows. A galley kitchen has a long, stainless steel countertop. It is located across the aisle from an Advanced RV’s large wet baths. A 40-gallon freshwater tank, 25 gallon grey tank and a 25-gallon-black tank are all available onboard. Although the Kelvin does not have solar power, its 11 kWh lithium batteries can be charged by a second alternator when the van is in motion.
The Kelvin’s rear storage is under a fixed platform and is fully finished. The floor is the same as the interior. There are four large panels on the cargo floor that allow the owner to access the van’s various mechanical systems. The cargo floor also has enough space for bikes and other gear that can be secured using inlaid tracks. You can also remove the rearmost section of the bed to store taller items in the garage.
The Kelvin’s home office is the real star. The vehicle owner was a photographer and needed a place where he could work with a large monitor. Advanced RV created a new set-up that included a Lagun table, and the front passenger seat that can be angled to face forward. The large external monitor is mounted on the wall behind the driver and swings out for a better view, while the owner’s laptop and hard drives are stored in a temperature-controlled cabinet. This setup should be admired by all digital nomads. I know that I am.
