AEV Recruit Ram Pickup Increases Aftermarket Toughness

It is ready to end the world.

American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), has been providing pickup trucks with serious off-road gear for many years. Because its products are reliable, the company is ready for any apocalyptic scenario. The company’s latest creation, the AEV Recruit RAM 1500, is a proof of concept for what it has to offer with the pickup truck.

The suspension lift is immediately noticeable. The suspension lift adds four inches to the ride height, while keeping the RAM 1500’s factory front Bilstein airstruts and rear Airbags. AEV used spacer brackets and raised mounts to add the lift and tuned Bilstein 5100 shocks. AEV-engineered suspension knuckles were made from A206 T4 military-grade aluminum cast aluminum according to AEV. A four-millimeter stamped steel skid plate was also included.

AEV also added exterior protection, such as a front bumper made from four-millimeter steel. Cast-aluminum bumpers are home to tow loops made from aluminum that meet all original equipment load specifications. They also mount for a Warn Zeon 10-S winch and a Vision X 30 inch LED bar. The bumper at the rear is made from four-millimeter stainless steel. AEV also upgrades the truck bed with bed-corner protection tubes and recessed cup holders.

Two vents are located on the hood made from galvanized steel of 23-gauge. They help to reduce engine heat. These vents help to channel water away form sensitive electronics in the engine compartment. The snorkel, which is the AEV raised intake, is made of cross-linked polyethylene. It helps to deliver cool and clean air to the engine for maximum performance. The Recruit has a black grille with two-tone paint.

AEV transforms the interior to factory-like leather and custom embroidery. An AEV Switch Pod allows you to control the auxiliary lights as well as accessories. AEV reprograms the truck’s speed sensor and computer, so that they both work with the 37-inch tires.

AEV does not know if the Recruit Ram 1500 is going to be produced or if accessories will be available for sale. AEV has received positive feedback at several shows so far. AEV-upfitted Jeep/Ram vehicles can be purchased through some Jeep/Ram dealers and come with a 36-month/36,000 mile warranty. This beast will satisfy your off-road desires.
