This mid-engined beast has UFO styling and has a carbon fibre body.
We first saw the fascinating hypercar in United Arab Emirates a month ago. It made its debut at Dubai Motor Show 2019. Bashar Ajlani, the company founder, revealed that the unassuming styling was inspired by Lamborghini during an interview with Top Gear magazine.
The extravagant design is reminiscent of the Sant’Agata Bolognese bull, but the AjlaniDrakuma will have “Pagani inspired production.” However, we know that 99 cars are being planned, each one fully customizable to the customer’s needs.
Although the car’s wild design might lead you to believe it packs a massive engine such as the 12.3-liter V16 quad turbo powerhouse from the Devel Sixteen, the hypercar actually has a V8 with two turbochargers. The engine is mounted in the middle and produces 1,200 horsepower, or roughly the same as the Bugatti V16 quad-turbo powerhouse.
Top Gear was also informed by Ajlani Dakuma that although the chassis is not yet finalized, the company does have a few options. To keep the Drakuma’s weight down, it will feature a carbon-fiber body. The doors will open like a dragon’s wings, but the images so far show the car closed.
We are not seeing photos of the interior. The showcar from Dubai also had all its windows blocked out. This suggests that the company isn’t ready to reveal what’s inside. Bashar Ajlani has been working for five years to design the car. It is a prototype that he created. He even admits that Horacio is his idol because he doesn’t compromise on quality. Although it is understandable that some people will be skeptical about Drakuma’s production chances, the car arrived in Dubai as promised.
